I purchased this monitor approximately 1 1/2 years ago, and have been very happy with the results. I actually got it on sale at one of the big chain stores. I studied the other monitors and brands (Samsung, sony, apex, envison etc) that were available, and honestly I could not tell a difference in quality of picture, and this monitor was $40 lower than the closest priced off brand, at least westinghouse is a brand I know from the past, although they are newer to the Computer monitor/LCD realm at that time, now they are all over. I must say this monitor has served its purpose. Its the compact flat screen, much easier than the big tube monitor. I may be old fashion, but I think my old tube monitor had better resolution than any flat panel, but I have adjusted nicely now that I have had this one for a while. Now, i see another person that reviewed this monitor had problems with burning of images on this monitor, I think that may be a freak thing. Routine I have my monitor on most of the day, and with the screen saver, I haven't had a problem. Sounds like the problem listed prior could happen to any LCD monitor. Hard to speculate. I actually just purchase a 19 inch widescreen for my mom's computer i was impressed enough with this monitor from westinghouse. So check around, I think its a good value, and excellent for the average household use.

I bought this monitor as a replacement for my HP that I was very happy with, but broke accidentally during a recent move. I should have opened my wallet a bit wider and replaced it with the sale monitor, because my Westinghouse (though it looks good) burned in at the top of the screen after a mere 2 months of normal use. The Internet Explorer toolbar has etched itself into the top of the screen! I've tried every trick I could find to get rid of this image "memory" but to no avail. If you think LCD monitors can't burn in, think again.
